SHABBAT MORNING GROUPS: Thank you to Esti Munk for leading the Shabbat groups this week. The groups will meet from 10:30 to 11:30 am.

DO YOU HAVE THE RIGHT RAINCOAT?: We now have 3 raincoats that have apparently walked home with the wrong owners. They belong to Alan Kandel, Danny Wachsstock, and Lilly Levi. If you find any of them in your closet, please call the Shul office.

IMPORTANT - SAVE THE DATE: The 3rd Annual St Louis Jewish Community Blood Drive, together with a new Jewish Food Pantry Drive, will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2010, 10 am – 4 pm at Young Israel.

CLASSES: The Rabbi’s classes resume this week. Pick up a schedule in the lobby.

TRIBUTE CARDS: Giving Tzedakah is the perfect way to commemorate a simcha or remember a loved one. Tribute cards are for just this purpose. Cards can be sent through the Shul office, or through Women’s Division.  The Shul’s cards have recently received a “face lift”, and are on display in the lobby. They can be sent by contacting Judy in the office. To send through the Women’s Division, please contact Matilda Zeffren at 862-3809.

COMMUNITY NEWS

Rabbi Abraham Twerski in St. Louis: In honor of one of its founding members, Rebbetzin Paula Rivkin, the Jewish Council Against Family Violence and Jewish Women International presents a community event with Rabbi Dr. Abraham J Twerski. His topic is, ‘From Self Control to Out of Control: The Spectrum of Control in Relationships.’ The event and a dessert reception (Jon Rubin Catering) will be held this Thursday, October 22nd, at the Washington University Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts - Steinberg Auditorium, 7:00-9:00 pm. ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS: The JCRC is planning two events to raise awareness on environmental issues. They are: 1) Sunday, October 18th-Visit R Farm, 25873 State Highway 3, Dow, Il, 1:30-3:30 pm. HEALTH PROGRAM: A St. Louis Chapter Hadassah Signature Health Program about breast health awareness will be presented on Wednesday, October 28th, 7:30-9:00 pm, at the home of Dorit Daphna-Iken, 224 Topton Way. Mishnat Pinchas: Mishnat Pinchas continues on Shabbat Yom Tov starting 5 minutes after Kiddush The study of special English parsha sheets from “MiBereshit” in Israel (“Parents and Children Learn Mibereshit”).

Ulpan: Last week marked the start of the fifth year of the TMK Ulpan Ivrit at Young Israel (Monday and Tuesday evenings). Classes run through March. If you are still interested in joining, call Gilat at 609-1951
