SHUL ANNOUNCEMENTS

WINTER PARENT/CHILD LEARNING: for children grades K and up, continues this week, Feb 15th at 7:15 pm. Sponsorships ($36) available.

YOUNG ISRAEL HACHNASAT SEFER TORAH: A new Sefer Torah is a time to celebrate. Please join us for the dedication of Young Israel's new Sefer Torah, starting at the Oppenheimer home on Feb 16th, 12:00 pm, with the completion of the final letters.  There will be treats for the kids and an opportunity to buy letters or words and to watch the sofer complete this wonderful mitzvah. The parade dancing the Sefer Torah from the Oppenheimer’s to Young Israel will begin at the Oppenheimer’s home at 1:00 pm.

RABBI’S CLASSES: The Monday and Wednesday classes are on hiatus this week. The Rabbi will be attending the YU Yarchei Kallah.

ANNUAL YOUNG ISRAEL MEETING: The annual meeting of the members of Young Israel will take place on Sunday, February 23rd, 11 am, at the shul. The slate of officers and directors to be nominated by the nominating committee will be provided as soon as it is complete.

OFFICE HOURS: Judy will be away part of this week.  Revised office hours are as follows:

WOMEN’S DIVISION

WOMEN’S DIVISION IMPORTANT CALENDAR ANNOUNCEMENT: This year Women’s Division used a new program to produce the calendar. Unfortunately, the program generated a number of errors. We have decided to reprint the calendar to address these issues. Thank you for your understanding.

SCHOOL NEWS

Senior Night Blackout: The Block Yeshiva boys basketball team will play against MTI on Saturday night, February 22 in the final home game of the season. Show your support for the Blockbusters by wearing black! Seniors will be recognized at 8:00 PM and tip-off is at 8:30 PM. The game will be at The Yetra and Israel Goldberg Gymnasium and Auditorium on the EHA campus. Teenage girls are kindly requested not to attend.

SAVE THE DATE – MARCH 1st: Join us in celebrating Yeshivat Kadimah High School, an innovative and creative new approach to Jewish high school education. Saturday night, Motzei Shabbat, March 1, 2014, at the newly renovated St. Louis Public Library.

JEW IN THE CITY: Epstein Hebrew Academy and NCSY will host Allison Josephs, Founder of Jew in the City on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 7 p.m. at the school (1138 N. Warson Rd.). The program is entitled "Finding God in Hawaii: a childhood existential crisis, a search for meaning, and the life-changing answers found in a tropical rain forest" and will feature a dairy dessert reception. $18 suggested donation - men, women & teens are welcome to attend.
