TISHA B'AV YU/OU VIDEO

As you know, this year Tisha B’av is a ‘postponed’ fast, as it falls on Shabbat, and is commemorated next Sunday, July 29th.  Please see the attached letter outlining many of the unique practices for next Shabbat and Tisha B’av itself, which affect the schedule as well.

This year, Tisha B’av afternoon before Mincha we will once again be showing a video presentation of shiurim and inspirational talks produced by YU’s Center for the Jewish Future, and the Orthodox Union, entitled: "Making Tisha B’Av Meaningful to us Today".

This year’s video includes presentations by prominent Rashei Yeshiva and Rabbinic leaders such as Rabbi Mordechai Willig שליט"א, and, Rabbi Kenneth Brander, Dean of the Center for the Jewish Future, prominent educators such as Dr David Pelcovitz, Gwendolyn & Joseph Strauss Chair in Psychology & Jewish Education, Azrielli Graduate School, and Mrs. Nachama Price, Judaic Studies Faculty of Stern College for Women, as well as many other familiar names, including Rabbis Steven Burg and Yaakov Glasser of NCSY, Rabbi Steven Weil, Executive Vice President of the OU, and Rabbi Tzvi Hersh Weinreb, Executive Vice President Emeritus of the OU.  It promises to be a powerful and stimulating way to “Make Tisha B’av Meaningful to us Today” indeed!  Please see the attached flyer for more details, and help spread the word by sharing this flyer with your friends.
