COMMUNITY NEWS

ERUV ANNIVERSARY: On Friday, December 9, 1994, at 11:45 AM, the St. Louis Community Eruv was first completed and inspected. For the past 17 years, the Eruv has been available for use by members of this community, almost without interruption.

The Eruv remains a constant source of pride and accomplishment for our community. Its 20 mile perimeter is inspected every week by two qualified inspectors, who notify the Eruv committee. The four members of that committee, who led the construction of the Eruv 17 years ago, remain solely responsible for purchasing supplies, updating the hotline (314-863-1811) and making the frequent repairs, both personally, and with the help of a qualified lineman. Please give generously and/or offer to learn to maintain the Eruv boundary to ensure the long-term viability of this essential community resource.

THANK YOU: The Girl Scout Troops 103 and 4198 of Epstein Hebrew Academy wish to thank you for your participation in the Thanksgiving food drive. It was a huge success! The girls were able to fully stock the shelves at the Barbara Mendelson Tomchei Shabbos Pantry. Thank you for helping us increase awareness of this need in our community.

EHA'S ANNUAL SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR: Continues at Epstein Hebrew Academy though December 15th, from 8:00 am to 4:40 pm daily. There are books for all ages, including: teens, pre-schoolers and adults. In addition there will be a variety of games, posters, small toys and gift items available for purchase. Don't forget Chanukah is just around the corner. Please note that the Book Fair will be open the evening of Wednesday, December 14th from 5:30 to 8:30pm. The PJ Party for children kindergarten and younger will begin at 6:00 pm. The Movie Night featuring "The Muppet Movie" will begin at 6:30 pm.

TASTE OF KOSHER-ST LOUIS: will be at Epstein Hebrew Academy, 1138 N Warson Road, Wednesday, Dec. 21st, 5:30 pm. This is a kosher food extravaganza featuring top St. Louis kosher caterers. There will be a Chanukah candle-lighting ceremony, many exciting activities for families and children, and a silent auction to benefit the school's scholarship program. Admission if reserved by Monday, December 19th is $15 for adults, $8 for children 10 and under. At the door, $18 for adults, $10 for children 10 and under. Call 314-994-7856 to RSVP or for more information.
