NEW TIME FOR SHABBAT DAVENING: Starting next Shabbat, November 13th, Shacharit davening will begin at 8:45 am. This will continue until daylight savings time returns in the spring.

NEW WOMEN’S SHIUR: The first Matil Tzirel Shiur will be this Shabbat, November 6th, with Shira Yablok, at the home of Sara Greene, 8140 Tulane Ave, promptly at 3:15 pm. The second is planned for December 4th, time to be announced, with Merav Possick, at the home of Ruth Asher, 7941 Gannon.

HAVERIM BOOK CLUB: The next book is "Ester and Ruzya" by Masha Gessen, and the next discussion will be on Sunday, November 7, at 5:30pm at the Sukhodolsky home, 8127 Amherst.

RABBI CHAIM EISEN: We are pleased to announce the visit of Rabbi Chaim Eisen from Israel this Shabbat. Included in his full schedule are an Oneg Shabbat for all high school/college girls at the Feen home, 7850 Stanford Ave, at 9 pm, pre-mincha shiur at Young Israel, topic: Yaakov's Deceit: Does the Torah determine what morality is, or do we?, a TMK melave malka at the home of Adam & Tara Klein, 8112 Tulane at 8:30 pm, topic: Why the summons of Eretz Yisrael altogether? Who needs mixing real estate with religion in the first place? and a community lecture on Sunday night, November 7th, 8:00 pm at Young Israel, topic: Rabbinic “Science” versus Science as We Know it: Can We Reconcile Them?

HANUKAH HUGS: It’s that time again. JFCS has given us a big box to fill with new unwrapped toys, books, etc to be distributed for Chanukah. The box is downstairs outside the office. As you begin to shop for Chanukah, please think about purchasing an extra item.

EHA FUNDRAISER: Profits from the sale of the new Kosher by Design for Teens and 20 Somethings and all of the other Kosher by Design cookbooks will be used to fund special programs for students. These cookbooks are offered at a special discount. Orders can be placed now through November 22 by calling the school at 994-7856 OR Angela Tannenbaum at 802-7710. You may also purchase them at the EHA Book Fair, November 18-29.
