LOST & FOUND: Suzanne Sundy has lost a pair of sunglasses from South Africa and a similar but different pair was found. Please check to make sure that you haven’t mistakenly taken the wrong pair. Also turned in are a pair of reading glasses and 2 Etrog boxes – one is kid decorated, and the other is olive wood from Israel. Please also check with your out-of-town guests who were here for Yom Tov.


SHUL PROGRAMS

WOMEN’S SHIUR: All women are invited to hear a shiur given by Esta Adelman in memory of her beloved mother-in-law, Frieda, who was a strong and active supporter of our community. The shiur will be held at Young Israel starting promptly at 3:30 pm this Shabbat, October 23.

RABBI’S CLASSES: The Rabbi will be out of town Sunday and Monday this week. Consequently, his classes on Monday, both morning and evening, are cancelled for this week only.

MOVIE AND SHMOOZE: We are planning a new program that will include a movie with Jewish content, food, and time to shmooze. We will meet every 2 months, starting on Motzei Shabbat, October 30th, 9:00pm at the shul. We need volunteers to run the program. Please contact Natalie Sukhodolsky if you can help at 725-6277.

NEW WOMEN’S SHIUR SERIES: Following the successful Shabbat afternoon shiurim this summer Young Israel is pleased to announce a monthly women's shiur to be held on the Shabbat closest to Rosh Chodesh. The shiurim are dedicated to the memory of our beloved Matilda Zeffren. The Matil Tzirel Shiurim will take place at private homes. The first one will be on November 6th, with Shira Yablok, at the home of Sara Green, 8140 Tulane Ave, promptly at 3:15pm. The second is planned for December 4th, time to be announced, with Merav Possick, at the home of Ruth Asher, 7941 Gannon.

HAVERIM BOOK CLUB: The next book is "Ester and Ruzya" by Masha Gessen, and the next discussion will be Sunday, November 7 at 6 pm at the same place. The book is available at Brodsky library; or you can buy it for less then $10 on Amazon.com.

NEW MEMBER DINNER:Friday, November 12, after davening. Cost: $15/adult and children 12 & up, $7/children under 12, with a $60 max/family. Please RSVP to the office as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly.

Save the Date: TMK’s gala fundraising event: “A Celebration of Chanukah” on Saturday night, December 4th, the 5th night of Chanukah, 7:30 pm at the Cedars at the JCA, 13190 S Outer 40 Rd. Featuring a musical concert by the Eckhardt Family Singers of Milwaukee.

Shabbaton: The annual 9th grade Midwest Bnei Akiva Shabbaton will be on December 10-12 in Cleveland OH. The Shabbaton is a great opportunity for your child to get to know Bnei Akiva members from across the region. Participating in this Shabbaton are chanichim from: Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Cleveland, Columbus, Pittsburgh, and St. Louis. Many of the participants are friends of your children from the Bnei Akiva camps, Wild Rose and Stone.
