SHUL PROGRAMS

SHABBAT GROUPS: Our Shabbat groups begin this week. Supervision downstairs begins at 10:00am and formal activities begin at 10:30am.

YOUNG ISRAEL - TORAH MiTZION PICNIC Sunday, September 5, 4:30 pm at Irv Zeid Park. Come meet our new bnot sherut, Yaara and Nava. Bring your own picnic or enjoy our prepared hot dog dinner which will be $10/adult and $5/children(under 5). Featuring fun Rosh Hashanah art activities for the children.

SHABBAT SHUVA SHIUR: Given by Rabbi Shulman will be on Shabbat Shuva, September 11, at 5:15 pm. The topic will be: It was the Best of Times; It was the Worst of Times: A new look at Psalm 27, Le'dovid...

HAVERIM BOOK CLUB: The book club is now reading "The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak. The book is available at the Brodsky library. The next discussion will be after the Yom Tovim.

SHUL BUSINESS

SHUL BOXES:Items in unlabeled boxes and in boxes of nonmembers have been removed and are being stored in the office. If you would like to rent a box, please contact the office. Rental is $36/year/box upstairs or downstairs.

RECYCLE BIN: The blue recycle bin in the social hall is for soda and water bottles, cans, and glass ONLY – NO TRASH, PLEASE.

SEUDAH SHLISHIT: It is time to “change the guard”. We are looking for volunteers to help prepare seudah shlishit every week. Please contact Hilton.


COMMUNITY NEWS

FOOD DRIVE: The Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry is having its annual High Holiday Food Drive. Some of the items needed most are: tuna, peanut butter, rice, healthy snacks, paper products and toiletries. There will be a box downstairs outside the office until after Yom Kippur. Please bring what you can.

WOMENS’ TEHILLIM GROUP: Meets at Bobbi Gibli’s home on Delcrest Court-Bldg #2, #204, Sundays @ 9:30 am. If you cannot participate in person, call (314) 504-5593. The Tehillim hotline for names and updates is (314) 995-7119.
