Mazel Tov to Jonathan & Naomi Shanker on the recent birth of a son. Mazel Tov to the grandparents, Gary Shanker of St Louis and Dr & Mrs Matthew Burman of Detroit, and to great-grandmother, Ruth Shanker. The shalom zachor will be at the Goldmeier home, 219 Topton Way, beginning at 9:30pm. The brit milah will be Thursday morning, after davening, at NHBZ.

Mazel Tov to Mitch & Shelly Wolf on the bat mitzvahs of their twin grandsons, Naom & Eitan Wolf, sons of Joseph & Mireet Wolf in Israel.

SHUL PROGRAMS

YOUTH GROUPS: 10:30 - 11:30 am every Shabbat until summer vacation. Groups are for 2 yr olds – pre-k, k - 2nd, 3rd - 5th boys, and 3rd - 5th girls. In addition, parents will supervise the halls during group time. Children must be downstairs behaving in groups or with their parents in Shul and at 11:30 am everyone will go into Shul for the end of davening.

THANK YOU: to Marc & Vickie Chervitz who are downstairs ushers for the youth groups this week.

TEFILLAH CHAGIGIT: Our Yom HaZikaron/Yom HaAtzma’ut commemoration and celebration will be Monday night, April 19th, 7-9 pm., presented by Young Israel and Torah MiTzion Kollel, and featuring the Flag Ceremony by the students of Epstein Hebrew Academy. The community is invited. There will be a Mincha minyan at 6:45 pm and Maariv after the event. Sponsored by Young Israel, Bais Abraham Cong, NHBZ, NCSY, TMK and Bnei Akiva.

LUNCH & LEARN: At Young Israel with TMK next Shabbat, April 24th, after davening. Cost: $15/adults and children 12 & up, $7/child under 12 or a family max of $50. We know the time is short, but PLEASE RSVP to Judy soon, so we can make the appropriate plans.

‘HAVERIM' BOOK CLUB: Our next meeting is scheduled for Shabbat afternoon, May 1st, 4:30pm, at the home of Jacob and Natalie Sukhodolsky. We will discuss "Now You See Me ." by Rochelle Krich.

SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK:This year, the Shakespeare Festival presents Hamlet. Join us for this beloved St. Louis summertime tradition, in Shakespeare Glen at Forest Park, on Sunday, May 30th. The Green Show Entertainment begins at 6:30 pm and the play at 8:00 pm. The evening is free, but RSVPs are encouraged so we can get picnic tables for dinner before the play.


WOMEN’S DIVISION

CALLING ALL COOKS: The 4th Annual Shavuot Take-Out Restaurant is being planned. You cook the food (dairy dishes), we prepare the online ordering and then the members of the shul enjoy your delicacies for Shavuot. Please contact Vicki Isakow at 862-5661 or isakow@sbcglobal.net.

SPECIAL WORKSHOP: Sunday, April 18th at Young Israel, 1- 4:45 pm. Members and potential members of the Ahavas Chesed Society are invited to a workshop given by Rabbi Elchonon Zohn, entitled: ‘An Explanation & Review of the Tahara Process’.

AHAVAS CHESED SOCIETY DINNER: The Annual Zayin Adar Dinner will be held on Sunday, April 18th, 6:00 pm at Agudas Israel, 8202 Delmar. Guest speaker will be Rabbi Elchonon Zohn, Director of the Chevra Kadisha and Vaad HaRobbonim of Queens, as well as the Association of Chevros Kadisha.. Cost: $30/person.
