MAKE YOUR OWN MEZUZAH CASE: Batya Rich will be having a workshop making glass mezuzah cases or chamsas at Noon, on November 22nd, at Young Israel. Cost is $30/mezuzah case and $20/chamsa. IMPORTANT - SAVE THE DATE: The 3rd Annual St Louis Jewish Community Blood Drive, together with a new Jewish Food Pantry Drive, will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2010, 10 am – 4 pm at Young Israel.

GRANDPARENTING: Sunday, November 15th at 10:30 am, to commemorate the conclusion of shloshim for Erna Waltuch, a"h, Dr. Rela Mintz Geffen will talk on, "At the Center or at the Periphery - The New American Jewish Grandparent". Co-sponsored by the Raskas family and the Young Israel Women's Division. Light brunch will be served. The program is open to both men and women.

TRIBUTE CARDS: Giving Tzedakah is the perfect way to commemorate a simcha or remember a loved one. Tribute cards are for just this purpose. To send one through the shul, contact Judy in the office. To send through the Women’s Division, please contact Matilda Zeffren at 862-3809.

COMMUNITY NEWS

WE DID IT!!!! Rabbi Mike Rovinsky finished 14th, among hundreds of nominees, for the Jewish Community Hero Award. Now it’s up to a panel of 10 judges to decide who will be the Hero of the Year. Thanks to everyone who voted and put Rabbi Rovinsky and St. Louis on the map .You can see the video that was submitted to the judges at: http://www.jewishcommunityheroes.org.

MOVIE: “Lonely Man Of Faith: The Life and Legacy of Rabbi Joseph B Soloveitchik,” will be presented Saturday night, November 14th, 7:00 pm, at the Steinberg Auditorium – Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts at Wash U (enter off Forsyth just west of Skinker). $5 suggested donation.
