Mazel Tov to Debbie and Mordechai Simon and family on the engagement of their daughter and sister, Nechama Dina, to Zachary Taylor. Zach and Nechama Dina became engaged at Nefesh B’Nefesh’s welcoming ceremony at Ben Gurion airport following Nechama Dina and her 200 fellow Olim’s arrival in Israel on September 8. The proposal was widely reported on Israeli media outlets as part of NBN’s designated “single’s flight”, the final chartered aliyah flight this summer. Mazel Tov also to Nechama Dina for ‘living the dream’ and becoming an OlahChadasha.

SHABBAT SHUVAH DRASHA: Rabbi Shulman will be giving his Shabbat Shuvah drasha on September 26 before Mincha. The topic is, “The Rosh Hashanah That Changed Jewish History: Where Do Our Prayers Come From?”

PICNIC: Our annual picnic will be this Sunday, September 13th, at Villa Park at 4:30 pm. You can bring your own picnic dinner or enjoy a spaghetti dinner for only $10/adult or $5/child age 5 and under.

Mishnat Pinchas: Congratulations to the participants of Mishnat Pinchas, who, after 4 years of weekly learning, are celebrating a Siyum of Pirkei Avot. Mazal Tov to them and to the entire Jewish community. Rabbi Menachem Leibtag, one of pioneers of Torah Education via the internet and a renowned teacher at Yeshivat Har Etzion in Israel, will be leading this week's parent/child study of mishna (5 minutes after start of Young Israel kiddush).

Kumzitz: All those in high school are invited to a Pre-slichot Torah MiTzion Kumzitz! September 12th, Motzei Shabbat. 9 - 11 pm at the Schneider's home, 12331 Ladue Rd.
