ONEG: There will be an Oneg Shabbat this Friday evening at the home of Rabbi & Baila Shulman, 8055 Amherst, at 10 pm, for all those who will be learning in Israel this year.

SHABBAT MORNING GROUPS: Thank you to Esti Munk for leading the Shabbat groups this week. The groups will meet from 10:30 to 11:30 am.

SHABBAT TEA: Please join us to say good-bye to Avigayil and Chen at an Afternoon Tea at the Feen home, 7850 Stanford Ave, starting at 5:30 pm.

GUEST SPEAKERS: We are honored to be able to host two major events next month. On September 1st, HaRav Gedalia Dov Schwartz, head of the RCA Beth Din and head of the CRC in Chicago, will be speaking at Young Israel at 7:30pm. His topic is “Elul – A Time of Private and Public Introspection” and is sponsored by The St. Louis Rabbinical Council. On Shabbat, September 12th, Rabbi Menachem Leibtag will be our Scholar-in-Residence. His topics and times will be forthcoming.

FLOWERS FOR ROSH HASHANAH & SUKKOT: We have an opportunity to beautify our homes for the chaggim. We will be ordering roses (white or mixed blue & white) and mixed flower bouquets for Yom Tom as a fundraiser. The cost will be $25 per dozen/bouquet. TRIBUTE CARDS: Giving Tzedakah is the perfect way to commemorate a simcha or remember a loved one. The Women’s Division has tribute cards for just this purpose. Contact Matilda Zeffren at 862-3809 for more information.

NEED A BREAK???: The Block Girls are offering Kids Care August 17th-20th, at the Epstein gym, from 10am – 3pm each day. Activities will include games, arts & crafts, and sports. A MAD HATTER TEA PARTY: Featuring hats from the Levine Hat Co for both men and women, at Traditional Congregation, 12437 Ladue Rd, on Sunday, August 16th, from 1 – 4 pm. There will also be jewelry, art work, cosmetics, and more to choose from. Refreshments will also be available. Admission is only $10.

MEN’S SWIM: The 8th grade at Epstein has organized a boy’s/men’s swim on August 23rd at the Shaw Park pool on Brentwood Blvd, from 8-10 pm. The cost is $5/person or $25 max/family. For information call Bonnie Goldmeier at 863-1881 or Adi Feen at 862-2740.

Beit Midrash for Women- on break for the summer

Ulpan at Young Israel, taught by Gilat Gastfraind, will occur Monday & Tuesday evenings from October through March (1st semester, October 12th - December 15th; 2nd semester, January 4th - March 9th). Monday, 7:00-7:50 pm Children Beginners; 8:00-8:50 pm Adult Beginners; Tuesday, 7:00-7:50pm Adult Intermediate; 8:00-8:50 pm Adult Advanced $89/semester in advance (includes workbook).
