Special Guest Speaker: Ya’akov Katz (‘Ketzele’): This Sunday morning, August 24th, at 10 am, the Young Israel will host a community lecture by visiting Rabbi Ya’akov Katz, otherwise known as “Ketzele”, a former Yom Kippur war hero, and founder of Arutz-7 news agency, as well as one of the founders of the Gush Emunim movement. He will speak on the topic of: ‘Seeing the Good in the State of Israel.’

Special Presentation – Sefer Torah Registry: Tuesday, Sept 2nd, at 8:00pm, there will be a public presentation by Machon Ott, on the topic of computerized global Sefer Torah Registry, what is it and how does it work?  Machon Ott will be here in St. Louis reviewing, checking, and registering the Sifrei Torah in the Young Israel as well as several other shuls.

 

Picnic: It’s a special Young Israel/TMK picnic! Sunday September 7th, 4:30 pm at Irv Zeid Park, 9200 Old Bonhomme. Come welcome our new Israeli Shlichim, Chaim & Merav Possick, Amichai, Eden and Itai and our b’not sherut, Avigayil Schulman and Chen Rettig.  Enjoy lots of activities. BYOP (Bring Your Own Picnic). Drinks and Watermelon provided. Suggested Donation: $7 per family. 

 

Save the Date:   Sunday September 21, 2008, 10:30 am - 12:30 pm --- Women's Division Opening Event. We'll make beautiful flower arrangements (getting ready for the Chagim to decorate our homes) and learn about the Women's Division activities. All women and teenage girls are invited. Please, no drop offs any other days; do use the secured plastic bins. Requested items: canned veggies (most important), fruit, soup, desserts, and any other non-perishables. TMK NEWS

Mishnat Pinchas, the TMK parent/child learning begins 5 minutes after the start of Kiddush downstairs in Young Israel.

Chaim Possick presents the Parshat HaShavua shiur 8 AM at Young Israel this Shabbat morning.

The next cycle of our Beit Midrash for Women taught by Merav Possick will begin on Wednesday, August 27th, 9:15 AM, at the home of Faye Newman, 7916 Stanford.  It is a great time to join this class entering its sixth year.
