 The Shul’s Annual Dinner

Invitations are out!  Please return your journal ad sheets and checks, and your reservations for this awesome event!  And how about the new venue???  8101 Delmar:  the hoppin’-est place in town!

Classes – Dr. Wolf’s Sunday class will not be held this week. Rabbi Shulman’s classes resume on Wednesday Jan. 2nd and Monday  Jan. 8.

The Glass Mezuzah – December 25th  5:00 pm at Young Israel.   Call Natalie Sukhodolsky to make your reservation for this fun event! You will have a chance under expert guidance to make your own mezuzah.  Seating is limited to just the first 25 people.  Rabbi Shulman will speak about mezuzah journey through history.

SIGN UP NOW FOR THE SECOND SEMESTER of the fourth annual Ulpan Ivrit - 5768: Tuesday and Wednesday nights, January 15th through April 9th; $100 for the semester. Every student receives his/her own workbook. Scholarships are available.

 

Sign up for the Mother/Daughter Bat Mitzvah Program

The Torah MiTzion Bat Mitzvah Program will begin on January 6th, 7:00 - 8:30 PM. This educational program of 10 classes was developed by Oshra Koren of Matan in Israel. We are the first to offer this unique program in the U.S. ($140, scholarships are available). Mothers of 6th graders should contact Vardit Teperberg (314 420-3696) or Suzanne Sundy (314 420-7880).

 

Derech Eretz Sunday Club this Week!

Kids have fun with Shany Batit and Eliana Smith! The Derech Eretz Club will be held this Sunday (12/23):

at Young Israel Synagogue (8101 Delmar Blvd): Grade K-3 9:30 - 10:30 AM   Grade 4-7 10:30 - 11:30 AM

NOTE: There will be NO Sunday Club on December 30th

Mishnat Pinchas, the Torah MiTzion parent/child learning begins 5 min after the start of Kiddush, downstairs in Young Israel.

Sales Tax Savings

Please remember when you shop for the shul to get our tax ID number from Clare, so we don’t pay unnecessary sales tax.  This is very important to save the shul money.  Thank you!

 

New Member Dinner Follow Up:  Our New Member Dinner Committee again wants to thank everyone who worked so hard on this great event.  Also, a reminder:  if you haven’t yet paid, please do. 

Is your child missing clothing?  Check the downstairs coat rack.  We donate items on 1-7-08.

Jewish Food Pantry – the food pantry is in desperate need of  donations. Please donate with a check or goods.  Thank you.

Block Yeshiva High School: Basketball game, Sat Dec. 22nd, at 7:30 PM.  Boys Varsity vs Alumni, is postponed.
