MAZEL TOV – To Al Adelman & family on the birth of a great-granddaughter, Freda Leah; parents are Akiva & Sura Rifka Adelman of Jerusalem.

CONDOLENCES - To Sunny Davis on the passing of her beloved father, Macy Meyers.  Sunny will be sitting shiva in Baltimore, at her mother’s home.  The phone number there is 410-764-7045. Derech Eretz Sunday Club continues this Week! Kids have fun with Shany Batit and Eliana Smith! The Derech Eretz Club will be held this Sunday (11/04) at Young Israel Synagogue (8101 Delmar Blvd): K-3 9:30 - 10:30 AM; 4-7 10:30 - 11:30 AM.

Mishnat Pinchas, the Torah MiTzion parent/child learning begins 5 min after start of Kiddush, downstairs in Young Israel.

This week is the last chance for children (K-6) to join in a Mesibat Shabbat.  This Special Shabbat Party meets from 5 -6 PM in the Teperberg’s backyard (7925 Delmar) for the Parshat HaShavua chidon-quiz, songs, refreshments and stories.

Mother/Daughter Bat Mitzvah Program: The Torah MiTzion Bat Mitzvah Program will begin on January 6th, 7:00 - 8:30 PM.  This educational program of 10 classes was developed by Oshra Koren of Matan in Israel. We are the first to offer this unique program in the U.S. ($140, scholarships are available).  Mothers of 6th graders should contact Vardit Teperberg (314 4203696) or Suzanne Sundy (314 4207880).

Women's Tehillim Group:  The women are invited to participate in the reading of the book of Tehillim on Sunday mornings in the zchut of a refuah shelaima for cholim.  We meet at Fiona Kark’s home on 926 Jeanerette from 9:15-10 am.  If you cannot participate in person, you can call at (314) 863-2829 to receive chapters of Tehillim to say at home during that time.  The new telephone number for the Tehillim hotline is (314) 995-7119. This is the number to call to add or remove a name, or to check for updates.

Ohr Atid's First Annual Trivia Night! This Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Clayton Commons. Doors open at 6:30 PM and the games begin at 7:00 PM.   Pull together teams/tables of 8-10 players at $18 per person (or perhaps you wish to sponsor a table for $180). SAVE THE DATE:On Wednesday evening, November 14, Young Israel and Torah MiTzion are hosting the St. Louis premiere of the documentary film “TO DIE IN JERUSALEM”, an exploration of two families’ personal losses and Avigail Levy’s search for answers – the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, mutual pain despite cultural differences and diverse perceptions of death, and ultimately, the hope for peace. The film will be introduced by the Director/Producer Hilla Medalia, and she will answer questions following the film in a discussion moderated by our own Professor Michael Widlanski.
