WELCOME! Young Israel is honored to welcome Rabbi Eli Ozarowski, his wife Zemira, and his family. Rabbi Ozarowski is a fellow in the Beren Kollel Elyon at Yeshiva University’s Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS).  In addition to having obtained his s’micha from RIETS, he holds a master degree from the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education.

CONDOLENCES – to Rabbi Amiel Rosenbloom on the passing of his beloved father, Mr. Joshua Rosenbloom. Rabbi Rosenbloom will be sitting shiva in Israel and can be reached at 011-972-2-586-8464. He will be returning after Tisha B’Av.  May Rabbi Rosenbloom and his family be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

Announcing a special summer concert by Shooby Doob Shloimy during the second week of camp.  Also, there will be a special program for those campers entering 6th and 7th grades:  an overnight Israeli camping trip experience with Uria Teperberg.

Parents:  Please remind your kids NOT to cut through the fence that surrounds the synagogue.   When we built the shul, we agreed that we would NOT take a short cut through yards and vacated streets.  Please help us live up to our word.

Save These Dates!

Sunday evening, July 15th at 7:00 PM at Young Israel  There will be a program sponsored by the Sarah Adelman Memorial Fund, commemorating the Yahrtzeit of Sarah Adelman, A”H, featuring Rabbi Tzvi H. Weinreb, Executive Vice President of the O-U. The title of Rabbi Weinreb’s talk is: “Paradigms of Grief:  Traditional Beliefs and New Understandings”.  Donations to the Sarah Adelman Memorial Fund, which assists children in need of counseling, would be greatly appreciated.

 

Friday and Saturday-July 27-28th  Shabbat Nachamu, Parshat Vaetchanan.  Renowned contemporary artist, Tobi Kahn, will be scholar-in-residence for a Shabbaton in memory of Ruth Fredman. Tobi Kahn will speak after davening and at Melave Malka.  Please see flyer in lobby.

 

Sunday August 25th    We’re having a shul picnic to welcome Rabbi Moshe and Baila Shulman and their family.  Time is 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Irv Zeid Park on Old Bonhomme next to Logos School.

 

Shul Hours:  the Shul office hours are Mon, Tues, Thurs, & Fri. from 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM. Closed on Wed.
