Our All Night Learning Program

Tuesday Night: Women's Shiur 11:30PM - 12:30AM with Rabbi Goldson in conjunction with BYHS girls

Torah MiTzion Kollel and Epstein Hebrew Academy Drama Club
present "The Wave" at the New Jewish Theatre at the JCC in an evening dedicated to the Genocide occurring in Darfur June 5th & 6th, Two shows each night: 6 PM and 8 PM Tickets $10, call 314 944-7856. "The Wave" presents a story of a teacher who cannot answer the questions of his high school students about the Holocaust.  Therefore, he starts an experiment with his students to show what it may have felt like living in Nazi Germany.

CONDOLENCES Young Israel extends its sympathies to Jerry Horowitz on the loss of his mother, Molly Howard.  The funeral will be Tuesday and there will be no shiva, due to Shavuot.  May Jerry find comfort among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

 

We are sad to inform you of the death of Irwin Menchel, father of Rabbi Gary Menchel, former principal of Block High School. Rabbi Menchel will be sitting shiva at the home of his mother, 22 Cameo Ridge Rd., Monsey, NY 10952. The phone number is 845-356-6681. Notes may be senet to Rabbi Gary and Mrs. Beaty Menchel, 679 Evergreen Dr., West Hempstead, NY 11522, phone 516-5897. Rabbi Menchel will get up from shiva on Tuesday morning.

Save the date! July 27th, Shabbat Nachamu, Parshat Vaetchanan. Renowned contemporary artist, Tobi Kahn, will be scholar-in-residence for a Shabbaton in memory of Ruth Fredman. Tobi Kahn will speak after davening and at Melave Malka. More details to follow.

 

Congratulations to all who are participating in the WOMEN’S DIVISION Shavuot Take Out. Dozens of dishes are being prepared and all are looking forward to full spirits and full tummies.
