The Women's Division of Young Israel is proud to host Erica Brown, Ph.D. as its Scholar in Residence this Shabbat.  Dr. Brown is a graduate of Yeshiva University, the University of London, and Harvard. She is the Scholar in Residence for the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, D.C.  She has written extensively in journals of education and of Jewish studies, and is the author of The Sacred Canvas: The Hebrew Bible in the Eyes of the Artist. SHABBOS YOUTH ACTIVITIES

 

Shabbat Groups led by Uria Teperberg.  Groups are from 10:00 – 11:15 AM

1st-6th Grades: Jr. Congregation.  Age 4-1st grade: Davening groups.  Up to 4 yrs: Babysitting

 

‘V’Shinantem L’Vanecha every Motzei Shabbat  join TMK for our parent-child learning program (K-6th grade, 10 min. after Kiddush).

Important Note to Parents: Parents are reminded that they are responsible for their children while on Shul property.  We ask that every child be either with a parent or in one of the supervised youth programs listed above.  This is essential for the safety of our children and the protection of Shul property.  Thanks for your cooperation.

WOMEN’S DIVISONHELP WANTED!! The Women’s Division of Young Israel is looking for chefs to create their signature dairy or parve dishes for our Shavuot Take-Out Service.  The hours are flexible; you can decide when you would like to have your dish ready.  You have creative control over what dishes you cook and the quantity.  Participate by making food, purchasing food or both!  We need your commitment to cook by Wed., May 2nd.  To apply, please call Chelle, 314-569-3618 or Heather, 314-260-9277.  The menu can be viewed on the Young Israel website on Mon., May 7th; orders must be in by Mon., May 14th.  Deliveries are to be arranged between buyers and sellers.  Payments are due at pick-up.  Checks made payable to the Women’s Division of Young Israel.

TMK WEEKEND! – Next Shabbos the TMK welcomes to Young Israel Rav Yair Solomon, who will be visiting from Israel.  Please see attached flyer for this important occasion.

 

NCSY EVENTS – 5TH – 8TH Graders don’t miss the greatest Shabbaton Weekend of the Year! Join all your friends from around the Midwest at our NEW LOCATION, the beautiful Perlstein Resort at Camp Chi Wisconsin.  May 10-13. NCSY’s final convention of the year and open to all 5-8 graders, even those who have never attended previous events.  Scholarships are available. No child will be turned away for financial reasons.
