CONDOLENCES – to RabbiSimcha Krauss on the death of his beloved mother, the funeral was held inIsrael this past Sunday.  He willbe sitting shiva at his brother’shome in Brooklyn on Wednesday until Sunday morning.  He can be reached at 718-256-2279.  May he and his family be comforted among the mourners of Zionand Jerusalem.

LATER NIGHT MAARIVarequest has been made to the interim Committee for a later night Maarivminyan., Sun. or Mon. through Thurs. The Committee wants to determine if there is sufficient interest forsuch a minyan during the winter months (Nov.-March).  The Committee does not want to take away from the existingMaariv minyan which follows Mincha. If you would be interested in such a minyan, please e-mail or call theshul office, Alan Gerson (mailto:agg@bks-law.com;997-7257) or Mordechai Simon  (Mordechai.Simon@amdocs.com/726-2116)and let us know what time(s) you would be willing to attend on a regularbasis.  The Committee will then seeif there is sufficient interest to start a later night minyan.

 

NEXTSCHOLAR IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM - will take place the weekendof Dec. 1-2, and feature RabbiMark Dratch.  Rabbi Dratch has a special interest andexpertise in the halachic issues surrounding child abuse and domesticviolence.  Rabbi Dratch served as acongregational Rabbi for 22 years, most recently as the Rav of CongregationAgudath Sholom in Stamford, CT. There will be an oneg Friday night at the home of Drs. Stan Biel &Leila Redlich, as well as other shiurim and activities during his visit.

JEWISHFOOD PANTRY’S ANNUAL DRIVE - The foodpantry serves hundreds of families in the Jewish andnon-Jewish community and is the only local food pantry that provideskosher food on request to its clients. It is important that we support thisendeavor and help the less fortunate in our own community.  Collection boxes are locateddownstairs.
