 Important Note to Parents: Parents are reminded that they are responsible for their children while on Shul property. We ask that every child be either with a parent or in one of the supervised youth programs listed above. This is essential for the safety of our children and the protection of Shul property. MAZEL TOV to all our children entering Kindergarten and First Grade & their families who are participating in our Shabbos Chinuch celebration. A special thank you to the Hoffman family for sponsoring our Shabbas Chinuch program in memory of their dear parents, Adele & Frank Hoffman. Special thanks to the Youth Committee co-chairs Roz Hirschhorn & Ruth Raskas, also to Donna Fredman & Barbara Ast and their committee for arranging and setting-up our Shabbos family lunch, to Uria & Vardit Teperberg & the TMK for providing the programs, and to all of the spontaneous volunteers who helped set-up & clean-up.

Wednesday: 9:15 AMWeekly Beit Midrash for women given by Vardit Teperberg at the home of Faye Newman 7916 Stanford.

New Class Wed: 7-8 PM, Dr. Norman Katz is giving a shiur in Mesechta Berachot in the Beit Midrash. The shiur is open to all who are interested.

UPCOMING SHABBOS SPEAKERS AT YOUNG ISRAEL Nov. 11, Rabbi Yosef Polstein, Camp Director of Yeshivas HaKayitz (Skokie) and Rosh Yeshiva atYeshivas Beis HaMidrash LaTorah – Hebrew Theological College will give the guest D’var Torah on Shabbos morning and a shiur Shabbos afternoon entitled “Life is a Laughing Matter: The Different Uses of ‘Tzchok’ in the Parsha”. 

Nov. 18, Rabbi Jeremy Kagan, principal of Midreshet Tehillah seminary in Jerusalem and author of The Jewish Self: Recovering Spirituality in the Modern World, will be our guest. Rabbi Kagan will deliver the D’var Torah on Shabbos morning and present a shiur entitled: “Critique of Pure Treason: Understanding the Sin of Understanding” on Shabbos afternoon.

 

COMMUNITY EVENTS

 

N.C.S.Y. SHABBOS ONEGS Nov. 3rd, Jr. NCSY Oneg from 8-9:15 PM and Sr. Oneg from 9:16-?????? PM at the Hirschhorn’s home on 835 Swarthmore Lane.

 

JEWISH FOOD PANTRY’S ANNUAL DRIVE - The food pantry serves hundreds of families in the Jewish and non-Jewish community and is the only local food pantry that provides kosher food on request to its clients. It is important that we support this endeavor and help the less fortunate in our own community. Collection boxes are located downstairs.
