SAVE THE DATE!!  - May 21st - Young Israel’s Annual Dinner honoring Rabbi & Mrs. Bienenfeld on their 26 years of service to our Shul, and to wish them well on their aliyah this year.

 

ADDRESSES NEEDED FOR ANNUAL DINNER Many of our children have been students of both Rabbi & Mrs. Bienenfeld. Please call the office or e-mail your children’s current address, so that we may send them invitations.

 

SPECIAL REQUEST – The dinner committee is asking that along with your ad, please submit a thought, an anecdote, or reminiscence about the Bienenfelds which will be included in a special Memory Book to be presented to them at the dinner.  The deadline is May 1st for the Journal and Memory book.  Thank you.                                            Shelly Wolf and Eva Derby.

 

COMMUNITY EVENTS

 

PIRKEI AVOT – The Torah  Kollel Mitzion has a family Pirkei Avot study group on Shabbos afternoon at 4:30 PM.  Please look at their flier for more information.

 

YOM HA’ATZMAUT – The community will be celebrating a Yom Ha’atzmaut Family Program this Sunday at a special Israeli Fair at the JCC from 3-5 PM. Additionally on Tuesday night, May 2nd, there will be a special program featuring singer, Danny Robas, at the JCC at 8:30 PM. The cost is $7 (adults) and $5 (children). Please see the posted flier for additional information.

 

H.F. EPSTEIN HEBREW ACADEMY invites the community to join them for Yom Ha’atzmaut on Wed., May 3rd from 5-7 PM. Admission is $6 (children 12 & under); $10 (adults) (includes dinner). Reservations only.  Call 994-7856 by May 1st.

 

DR.AVIVAH ZORNBERG – Biblical scholar, Dr. Avivah Zornberg will be speaking at Bais Avraham on Wed.,

May 10th at 7:30 PM. Her topic: “The Pit and the Rope: Joseph & Judah.” This event is cosponsored by our Women’s Division and our TKM.
